Hello and welcome to my new (as of 08/13/21) sliver of the internet. What better day than Friday the 13th?

Recently I’ve been interested in creating a static site and thought it would be a fun learning opportunity. After discovering .house TLD’s are a thing, I couldn’t resist… 😆

This site is built with Hugo as defined below –

Hugo is a static HTML and CSS website generator written in Go. It is optimized for speed, ease of use, and configurability. Hugo takes a directory with content and templates and renders them into a full HTML website.

Hugo relies on Markdown files with front matter for metadata, and you can run Hugo from any directory. This works well for shared hosts and other systems where you don’t have a privileged account.

Hugo renders a typical website of moderate size in a fraction of a second. A good rule of thumb is that each piece of content renders in around 1 millisecond.

Hugo is designed to work well for any kind of website including blogs, tumbles, and docs.

I also recently discovered Cloudflare Pages for hosting, which is "…a JAMstack platform for frontend developers to collaborate and deploy websites." This is a relatively new addition for hosting static sites so I wanted to try something new rather than use GitHub Pages, although it does seem to integrate and deploy site repos in a similar fashion.

As described in the About section, the majority of content on this site will be security related. I plan to post various notes, experiences and write-ups to share with others on their journey. The content and layout is subject to change. There will be no shortage of tinkering… 😄

Thank you for visiting!
